Abstract

The scientific article is devoted to establishing the features of obtaining a
license by insurance companies that wish to provide financial services in medical
insurance. It studies the legislative and by-laws that establish the features of
insurance companies’ activities and obtaining a license by them. The works of
researchers who studied the essence and features of medical insurance are
analyzed.
The definition of medical insurance is proposed as a type of insurance
contract that protects a person from unexpected medical expenses through
payments in the form of insurance premiums in the event of injury, illness, or
harm to health resulting from illegal actions.
To carry out health insurance activities, an insurance company must
develop and approve certain documents: the rules for the provision of financial
services may include regulations on the features of concluding health insurance
contracts, to enhance general conditions of the insurance product - health
insurance, a health insurance tariff policy, rules on the procedure for considering
reports of diseases and injuries in the case of health insurance, it is necessary to
develop and approve a methodology for calculating insurance tariffs during health
insurance, and others.
It is proposed that separate licensing conditions for health insurance be
enhanced.
