Abstract

In total, we analyzed more than 25 scientific articles in the Ukrainian
scientometric space devoted to civil society. Trends and prospects for its
development at the current stage of state life were identified through
criminological retrospective. Criminological analysis of civil society problems
allows us to reveal its offensive influence on political and social processes in
Ukraine.
The main trends include the growth of citizen activity, strengthening public
control and the development of legal education. The prospects lie in the
implementation of best world practices, innovations and increased interaction
with the international community, which will contribute to reducing the level of
crime and strengthening civil society in Ukraine. It was established that the role of
the church is significant in the mechanisms of informal social control in combating
crime.
