Abstract
ational legal treaties, and the law of the European Union, as well as the
analysis of empirical materials, it is substantiated that the requirements of the
national criminal procedural legislation need to be improved in terms of bringing
them into line with the international legal standards of representing the interests
of the victim in criminal proceedings. Among such standards, the following are
highlighted: 1) professionalism; 2) availability; 3) proper awareness; and 4)
equality. The article also outlines the prospects for further scientific
investigations and emphasizes the importance of implementing international legal
treaties into the national criminal procedural legislation system.
