CRIMINOLOGIST OF LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES – A SPECIALIST IN CRIME PREVENTION AND COUNTERMEASURES

Abstract

studying the structure and dynamics of crime both in a particular region and in
Ukraine as a whole, defining a modern strategy for combating and preventing
crime, developing appropriate measures based on the study of the identity of both
criminals and victims, new approaches to identifying criminals and solving
crimes. Several critical judgments were expressed regarding the existing
interaction of law enforcement agencies of Ukraine. A number of arguments are
given in favor of greater efficiency in the activities between them. The main duties
of police criminologists and the main methods and methods of their activities are
outlined, which aim to study the current state of crime, conduct criminological
research, forecast the future state of crime and its specific types, plan measures to
prevent and combat crime, direct participation in investigation of crimes and
identification of criminals.
