THE ISSUE OF FOREIGN EXPERIENCE IN PERFORMING STATE SUPERVISION (CONTROL) OF SAFETY ON PUBLIC ROAD TRANSPORT

Abstract
The article emphasizes that in most of the world's leading countries, there are quite effective systems of state supervision (control) over the safety of public road transport.
Attention was focused on the need to improve the direction of safety on public road transport in the course of cooperation between the countries participating in the Eastern Partnership of the European Union, the development of relevant directions of international cooperation and joint projects, including scientific initiatives and programs for the establishment of joint research on transport safety problems, the provision of grants and scholarships to support research projects.
The leading role of digital technologies in the implementation of state supervision (control) of safety on public road transport is emphasized. In view of this, Germany's experience allows us to determine the vector for the modernization of public road transport, its adaptation to the movement of vulnerable road users, ensuring the use of environmentally friendly energy resources, the use of tools for processing a large amount of new available data with the help of intelligent systems.
The following promising directions for improving the activities of domestic subjects of state supervision (control) over the safety of public road transport are singled out, such as improving safety information systems and technologies of commercial vehicles, strengthening the quality of equipment of commercial motor vehicles and operating standards; increasing security awareness; implementation of grant programs for the planning and operation of public transport systems, taking into account convenience, cost and accessibility; providing leadership and building a resource base for safe and technologically advanced local public transport systems while helping to develop local and regional traffic.
