THE ESSENCE AND FEATURES OF ENSURING ENVIRONMENTAL SECURITY AS A COMPONENT OF UKRAINE'S NATIONAL SECURITY

Abstract

The article emphasizes that ensuring environmental safety as a component
of Ukraine's national security is an acute social need of national importance, and
environmental safety research acquires a special meaning in the course of
maintaining the sustainable development of the state in times of comprehensive
globalization and the appearance of new threats to the environment in the
conditions of martial law.
It is noted that at the level of the Basic Law, the essence of environmental
safety is largely revealed through the prism of considering the specific challenges
associated with the Chernobyl disaster. At the same time, it is worth paying
attention to the fact that since the disaster, the efforts of the international
community have been directed mainly to the conservation of the fourth power
unit and reducing the consequences of the tragedy. At the same time, from the
point of view of environmental safety, the Chernobyl zone is also an extremely
valuable area for conducting scientific research, including at the international
level, which requires appropriate administrative and legal support.
It is emphasized that in the context of the current challenges of the martial
law and the previously indicated priorities of the state in overcoming the
consequences of the Chernobyl disaster, it is appropriate to understand
environmental safety as an integral component of national security, the state of
relative protection of the global ecosystem of the world, as well as the
surrounding natural environment within the international community, the state ,
a separate community from economic and other human activity, including the
products and consequences of such activity, man-made emergencies and military
conflicts.
It has been established that in the area of ensuring environmental safety as
a component of Ukraine's national security, it is worth paying attention to such
features as constant ecological modernization at the level of enterprises,
institutions, organizations and public authorities in Ukraine; assessment of a
number of indicators related to environmental safety, in particular the so-called
environmental safety climate as a set of objective factors that have an impact on
the activity of an enterprise, institution or organization and form a specific value,
normative, organizational, institutional environment from the point of view from
the point of view of environmental safety; close relationship with environmental
